Surgical Biology Club II

Surgical Biology Club II (SBCII) was established in 1959 to provide a forum for a small group of surgeons to present works in progress. Through vigorous discussions, club members would receive critical feedback on their research aimed at applying advances in biology to surgical problems.

SBCII has since grown to over 200 members.  As surgical research has evolved, the research interests of its members have also expanded beyond biology; the membership includes surgical leaders with a very broad range of expertise in basic science, clinical and health services research.  However, members continue to share the common goal of advancing research to address surgical problems.

SBCII members meet annually for a scientific meeting and dinner. The meeting is held during the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.
